Retrospectives are an essential tool for assessing a teams performance after a sprint or release. A sprint is usually a two week cycle for the mobile team in Aer Lingus, with three sprints making up a release. There is also one week of 'regression' testing where the app is ran through it's paces to make sure all new features are working as expected and haven't broken any existing functionality.
The above tool board was created using http://linoit.com/
Each member of the team is sent a link to the board to collaborate on. Everyone is given given 10 minutes in silence to add what they thought should continue, stop or start. This board is open to all the team and for the next retrospective is reviewed to assess progress.
The retrospective is a great way to ensure problems do not persist. The silent, anonymous nature of the post its being added means people are not afraid to share what they really think. I find this method of performing a retrospective works very well.
